Daily Journal February 14, 1998, William Thomas Thompson. This is Saint Valentines Day, lots of cards and candy. (Feb.5) This lovely Saturday morning inspires me more than I can write or tell. I am painting on 5 of the 20 Garden of Eden pictures I have outlined to paint in this series from Genesis. This painting is a very serious effort to show creation by the great, one and only 'God in Heaven' and His plan for man to look after God's big new earth and the animals He had put there on. I am so happy to be alive and well today and will again have the honor to dine with my dear mother at noon today at the new K&W cafeteria in town on Halton Road where I get real mashed potatoes, spinach, brussel sprouts, fresh tuna, salmon, garlic toast and much more variety in great foods on this Valentines day, she insist on buying my lunch and has a smile like no other in all the world. Thank you Lord. “Honor thy Father and Mother that thy days may be long" My car was hard to start again this morning and I think the man at AutoZone was right about my battery. If I could just get time to go to AutoZone here and have it tested again. One thing I must do this morning is to find a United States Post office open. As I drove out Laurens road, there it was the first time in my life, a big sign across the front of a post office saying open Saturday until 2 p.m. I went inside to mail 2 priority packages but there was a long line and only one window open. I thought for once I would behave myself and wait and not even complain. You see, post office employees all seem to have a common problem, they think everybody has the same amount of time in their lives as they have to kill. One lady was checking up at 11:50 a.m. and later a man came and began to checking on that counter position. The line begins to move. I had a dozen things to do or get done around town Saturday but two things was priority, the mailings and lunch with my Mother and my Sister. I later went by Gallery III to give Sandy a copy of my early journals and she seemed to be very interested in this work. I was planning a big day to paint on the bus and feed Mr. French’s dog that is tied near the bus, but I never got time to drive out there. The dog always has plenty dry food; I just like to give him a can of Vienna sausage when I am there. I missed the barber shop but made the grocery store to buy tooth paste and many food items like white grapefruit I couldn’t find in Florida, pure orange juice for Colleen, coffee that has normal taste. Radishes and I appoint radishes as my good food for the day. The only thing I forgot was to buy the Vienna sausage for the dog. I am glad I missed the cut of hair because it is hard to control what they can do to you in a barber chair from the back sometimes speaking a different talk. Dear Lord, my life is in your hands, use me for thy glory. Revelation 21-1,"And I saw a new Heaven and a new earth: For the first Heaven and the first earth had passed away; and there was no more sea. 2-And I John saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3-And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4-And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for former things are passed away. Resident is not the president; the congress is not the congress. We are stalled as a nation and spend our last days fighting over political correctness. We enslave our people for illegal taxes while we blow away the money on foolish things. Our government is too large and we never were a true Christian nation to start.
